Welcome to the Gypsy Chef's Illawarra Challenge. The Illawarra challenge will give some of the region's best amateur cooks the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and cook their favourite recipe for the TV cameras. A different cook will be show-cased each week, with each entry receiving a prize and the eventual winner as judged by a team of experts will receive the grand prize. Anyone may nominate to enter the competition - you can do so by lodging your application on this site including your name, age, and both your email address and telephone contact details. You may also wish to attach a photograph of yourself to your application, this is optional. Entries who proceed to round two of the process will be contacted and asked to attend the Collegians Club and make a brief presentation of just 10 seconds to a television camera, the same script being provided to each contestant. You will also be asked to bring a written description of your chosen recipe including ingredients and their total cost, cooking method and cooking tips. From these 20 to 30 cooks will be asked to return and cook up their favourite recipe which will be recorded by the TV cameras and replayed in the weekly series of "The Gypsy Chef's Illawarra Challenge." This should take no more than 2 hours of your time. Further details will be provided if you are chosen to be a contestant. The 20 to 30 contestants will then be asked to return for the final episode and naming of the eventual winner. General Terms and Conditions
